Now we wait

Disappointing news today. We were hoping to hear today that Lorelei's cancer had gone into remission. But today's CT scan showed that the tumor in Lorelei's chest has not become smaller and there is a buildup of fluid around her heart. It is likely that chemo is still doing the job of killing the cancer but since her tumor was so massive (11cm) the tumor may have turned into a giant mass of necrotic tissue in her chest and that is what we see in the CT scan. The extra fluid around her heart may be caused by the tumor "rubbing" and the heart becoming irritated as the heart beats. There is a slight possibility that the chemo is damaging her heart but we pray that is not the case. She will have a PET scan and echocardiogram on Monday. We are choosing to view these 60 hours between now and Monday as an opportunity to more fully rely on God and trust Him. Thank you for continuing to pray. She's concerned but still trusting God her Healer.

Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:14 NASB)

Psalm 91:14-16

New International Version (NIV)

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
