40 Days that have changed our lives

Exactly 40 days ago we learned that our sweet 17 year old daughter Lorelei Claire had cancer.  On that day, January 31, 2012 we knew only that she had a large mass in her chest (the size of a grapefruit or larger) that was composed of many lymph nodes and was causing her difficulty in breathing.  She had a mediastinoscopy procedure at Oklahoma Heart Hospital by Dr. John Randolph and he was able to remove enough nodes to complete a frozen section on one of the nodes while sending the rest off (in tact) for further pathology.  The frozen section indicated a "nodular sclerosing Hodgkin's Lymphoma" diagnosis.

God immediately surrounded us with a peace that surpasses comprehension and we knew we were in for a long fight for her life.

Much of our journey has been documented on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, but I am finally creating this site so people who are not inclined to participate in such social media can follow and pray along with us.  Better late than never!

I'll attempt to go "backwards" to the beginning while trying to stay current moving forward.

Psalm 91:14-16

New International Version (NIV)

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
